O God, whose Son Jesus is the good shepherd of your people: Grant that when we hear his voice we may know him who calls us each by name, and follow where he leads; who, with you and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

First Lesson: Acts 2:42-47

Psalm: Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; *
I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures *
and leads me beside still waters.
He revives my soul *
and guides me along right pathways for his Name’s sake.
Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I shall fear no evil; *
       for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You spread a table before me in the presence of those who trouble me; *
you have anointed my head with oil,
and my cup is running over.
Surely your goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, *
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Second Lesson: 1 Peter 2:19-25

Gospel: John 10:1-10

Announcement of the upcoming ECW Summer Community Yard Sale

The date for the ECW Community Yard Sale is Saturday, August 12, From 9AM – 3PM.

This will be our big fundraiser for the year. And we are asking for everyone’s help. We need your stuff. Just bring it into church and we’ll store and price it for you. If you have large items or need help getting your treasures to the church we can help with that.  If anyone is interested in helping with advertising, sorting,  organizing, setting up or tearing down please let us know. We would also appreciate extra bags or sorting boxes that anyone might have lying around.

In lieu of a Christmas Bazaar, we will have a Christmas area so please donate those lights that are too hard to put up, decorations, and that dusty office gift you received years ago..  Handmade items are always a nice addition at Christmas time. Bakers, we didn’t leave you out. We’ll have an area for goodies. Hopefully just as big and successful as our annual Christmas Bazaar used to be.

The ECW isn’t just a group for women to sit around, talk and snack. The money we earn goes back into the community. We donate to organizations and local charities that the congregation has said are important. The Episcopal Church Woman of Saint Alban’s represents the entire congregation of Saint Alban’s. The more we earn, the bigger our positive impact can be.

First Lesson: Acts 2:14a, 36-41

Psalm: Psalm 116:1-3,10-17

I love the Lord, because he has heard the voice of my supplication, *
because he has inclined his ear to me whenever I called upon him.
The cords of death entangled me;
the grip of the grave took hold of me; *
I came to grief and sorrow.
Then I called upon the Name of the Lord: *
“O Lord, I pray you, save my life.”
10 How shall I repay the Lord *
for all the good things he has done for me?
11 I will lift up the cup of salvation *
and call upon the Name of the Lord.
12 I will fulfill my vows to the Lord *
in the presence of all his people.
13 Precious in the sight of the Lord *
is the death of his servants.
14 O Lord, I am your servant; *
       I am your servant and the child of your handmaid;
you have freed me from my bonds.
15 I will offer you the sacrifice of thanksgiving *
and call upon the Name of the Lord.
16 I will fulfill my vows to the Lord *
in the presence of all his people,
17 In the courts of the Lord’s house, *
in the midst of you, O Jerusalem.
       Hallelujah!

Amen.

First Lesson: Acts 2:14a, 22-32

Psalm: Psalm 16

Protect me, O God, for I take refuge in you; *
I have said to the Lord, “You are my Lord,
       my good above all other.”
All my delight is upon the godly that are in the land, *
upon those who are noble among the people.
But those who run after other gods *
       shall have their troubles multiplied.
Their libations of blood I will not offer, *
nor take the names of their gods upon my lips.
O Lord, you are my portion and my cup; *
it is you who uphold my lot.
My boundaries enclose a pleasant land; *
indeed, I have a goodly heritage.
I will bless the Lord who gives me counsel; *
my heart teaches me, night after night.
I have set the Lord always before me; *
because he is at my right hand I shall not fall.
My heart, therefore, is glad, and my spirit rejoices; *
my body also shall rest in hope.
10 For you will not abandon me to the grave, *
nor let your holy one see the Pit.
11 You will show me the path of life; *
in your presence there is fullness of joy,
and in your right hand are pleasures for evermore.
